does anyone have the drilling fixture to put a cleaning hole in the back of your reciever that we could pass around to us 10/22 owners around here ??

I know 2 people in this town that would borrow it..... maybe we each chip $5 to the owner over the cost of mailing.

You don't need one. I've seen receivers which were drilled using that piece of garbage and the hole was way off.

What I did on all of my eight 10/22 rifles: I chose the truest bull barrel I had at the moment (the outside was off-centric only 0.0015" from the bore). I assembled the bull barrel in its normal position on the empty receiver using the v-shaped retainer and the two allen bolts. I have hold the barrel (with the receiver assembled on it) in the lathe chuck and check with dial indicator, start the lathe and drill the hole of the chosen diameter into the back of the receiver. It is quite alligned for the purpose of cleaning.
If you are new at things like lathe and dial indicator, ask a machinist to do it. It takes less than 10 minutes.
You can drink the 5 bucks now

Huh!
I just pushed a cleaning rod down my barrel and measured where it contacted at the rear and drilled a hole. It worked fine. drill a pilot hole to ensure a bigger drill does not wander off center.
By the way, if you tap the hole 1/4-20 for a round head screw then you can bed the screw head into the wood at the rear of the action.

Ever generous..."maybe we each chip 5$" :D

If you want one ....Home depot sells them

just a thought but how would a hole in the back of the reciever (perfectly in line with your eyeball)affect the gas handling of the firearm? I personally would not want it there unless I knew for sure that any wayard gases would vent somewhere else. Not saying it is definetley a bad idea and I do not know much about 10/22s but something for the experts to consider.

If I was not certain but had to have it maybe tap it and thread a plug in ?

Get a patchworm from one of the sponsors on the rimfire central forum. I did and can clean my 10/22 at the range when the barrel is still warm which makes it really easy to remove alot of the fowelling.
Consider getting one of these before you fiddle with the receiver.
Just my .02$ from experience.
