Hi,

Does anyone actually have one/shoot one? Any comments? Good? bad? etc? Anything? Not comparing to other guns (lots of threads on that), just comments about the gun and the shooting experience...

Seeing as how no one has answered and I have a big mouth, thought I would throw in a comment....

I handled a few in Europe and I was quite impressed with the fit and finish of the guns. They felt great in the hand (much better than the CZs I have played with) and even for a double stack, they have quite an ergonomic grip.

I did not fire one but dry firing them allowed me to assess that they have pretty good triggers out of the box (especially the higher end models, though the more basic guns still had pretty good triggers).

I am still debating between a Tanfoglio and a CZ SP-01 (and I am still not sure if I would trade my G22 in for either) but damn they are both very tempting....

Not sure about Tangfolio reviews...they are relatively "new" to Canada? But from what I have read I am pretty sure they are a high quality pistol from a high quality manufacturer.

I know the EAA WITNESS(USA marketed Tangfolio) "L Model" which is only $549 CAD gets mixed reviews on the other message boards.

Most problems are associated with recoil springs and magazine springs causing some feeding problems....which can be dealt with by getting some Wolf Springs.

The "STOCK" is a step from the "L" So I am sure it is going to be that much better.

I have a "L" model EAA Witness in 10 MM on order from TSE....when I get it I will post review and pics.

1911

I was about to ask the same questions about the "budget" 1911 pictured below:

That gun is only assembled by Tanfoglio. Most, if not all, of the components are manufactured in the Philippines by Armscor. In the U.S., Armscor does not enjoy a particularly stellar reputation, judging from what I read. As always, you get what you pay for...

Absolutely. They are not comparitive to a Springfield (medium) or STI (high) ...they are low end.
Remember that Americans are comparing them to the medium range 1911s, not Norcs.

As a dealer of the Tanfoglio line, your honest assessment regarding the quality of the guns is greatly appreciated.

You are right. I did not mean to suggest that these guns are junk per se, just that they are not really the same thing as Italian-made Tanfoglios.

it would be interesting if you guys would trythe Armscor 1911, shoot it side by side with a Norc. I have handled both myself, and my vote goes to ARMSCOR. the quality is more consistent with the Armscor. I believe in the U.S. its carried by Charles Daly. With regards to Tanfoglio (cz clone), my vote goes to Tanfoglio, more refined

Charley Daly is a re-branded Bul. I believe that Armscor is being marketed under the Rock Island brand (not to be confused with Rock River Arms) in the U.S. these days.

omen: "How to I get to Biloxi from here?"

gorky: "I saw Biloxi from the plane, once!"

350 Mag: "Not sue about Biloxi, how would you like to know how to get to Chattanooga?"

pontcanna: "does this dress make me look fat?"

capp325: "Dude, that dress is way too small. I mean... Dude."

freedomventures: "Chattanooga is an Indian word meaning 'river of prayer'! like LOL!"

ffgats: "While I was at camp, I kissed three girls!"

capp325: "3 girls? Zowie!"

ffgats: "One was my cousin jennie. she touched me where my bathing suit goes!"

Meanwhile, Omen is thinking "This is the dumbest gas station in Mississippi.... wow."

Holy thread hijack!

Sorry guys :)
