Wanting a 1911 any suggestions?

Want to move away from Tupperware and thinking 1911. Have a Sig 226 xtreme and don’t love it. Rented a 1911 the other day and enjoyed it. Looking for 9mm and was wondering if anyone had any thoughts? I would like something with a rail. Springfield seems nice- don’t want to spend over $1750. Thanks CGN

Already have a CZ SP-01 and really want a CZ P-01 but can’t find one. So willing to try 1911.
 
New Dan Wesson is close to the budget or find a used one , they are the best value for a 1911 I'm honestly surprised they don't cost more.

My buddy has a Dan Wesson LASD. A bit more than your budget if bought new, but I think it's definitely worth the price. This comes from a CZ-75 SP01 user... A better trigger than the CZ.

Sig, S&W , Kimber, Remington and any quality brand. Look for adjustable sights.
Have also a look at Bul from Freedom Ventures.
They work like clockwork.

Why adjustable sights? I see them more often on 1911s. I was going to put suppressor heights night sights on.

I agree. For not much more money and within your range, the Dan Wesson Specialist LASD will be heads and shoulders above Kimber, Sig, S&W, Springfield... The others are fine if you want to stick to the 1000 to 1200 range on the used market.
 
I just don't know why you would go with suppresser sights, would be neat as hell if we could put a can on.
There was a fellow a couple days ago having trouble finding a holster to work with them on a 1911 The back is no problem , the front one is.
A tuned up norinco is also worth looking at, at 400-500.oo , if you want to start cheap.
 
So I just feel like they give me a better sight picture. I’m still a bit new but I have them on a FNX .45 Tactical and out of everything I have shot I have enjoyed them the best. But I hear you. It’s probably me more wanting to modify the gun to make me a better shooter than me actually becoming a better shooter which is just bassakwards in itself.

I probably should just go with a Norc lol considering that the FNX was a spontaneous over the top purchase - but I had the buy once cry once mentality in mind. Since that purchase I have rolled through a lot of pistols (buying) and polymer and just am set on the steel frame (a like/love derived from CZ sp-01)

So ya right and left brain are duking it out- and I have come to find out that Dan Wesson is made by CZ sooooo ####.
