Wanting a 1911 any suggestions?

I don't understand CGN's infatuation with Norinco. Not only are the products cheap and low quality, but you are directly supporting the CCP with your money.

Another vote for Dan Wesson.

Try to follow me. I understand its a complex explanation but try to hang on: Its the best for the money. For the price its high quality. That is all 95% of people care about. Its called capitalism.

As for your CCP argument its hilarious, i won't even go there. At least not until you throw 90% of the things in your house trough the window.

They are built like tanks, a great platform to customize and learn on and cheap. I got a slightly used one which I upgraded with better springs and some other internal bits from Dlask, Wilson Combat etc, did a polish and trigger job on it and it's a very nicely shooting pistol for $500 total.

We'll just have to agree to disagree.

I'll never own a Norinco, for numerous reasons. I don't understand peoples obsession with them. And while begrudgingly some of the products in my house were made in China (you're right, that's almost impossible to avoid), I've never knowingly handed money to a CCP ran organization.

But hey, we are free to make our own decisions. And I respect that.

Any of these used would be a good start into the 1911 platform

Remington R1/RE1
Springfield Loaded, MilSpec/GI, TRP
SIG

Dlask is within your budget. Everything is hand fitted and if you ever have a problem they fix it immediately. One of my grip panels cracked sent them a pic and they sent me a new set same day.

Appreciate the input- I tend to see a lot more stainless steel in colt and less all black.
Also what is the rail version on Colt. Trying to buy on the EE. Actually going to try and trade for said 1911 on EE with a Sig 226 Xtreme or FNX .45 Tac

I asked about Colt two pages back .......crickets. I love my Colt and just purchased another one.

Colt is a name , not a favored product. Put one in your hand all 1911 feel a bit different.
As to my preferred choice the Smith and Wesson. The PARA has a few value ones.

That’s the problem - stock is so low locally it is tough to get my mitts on a few different options to get a feel for what I would really want.

I can take this in another direction- I have small ish hands. Index finger is crooked and short on shooting hand. Any recommendations?

There is huge aftermarket support for the 1911. For your short crooked trigger finger you might be better off with a short trigger. Like the original 1911ai. For small hands you can look at thin grips.

I find 1911s are either for workhorse, art, toy and work of art.

If you want a toy or workhorse. Get a norinco, SAM.

If you want all 4. Get a springfield, used les baer, Smith wesson, sig 1911. A beauty to look at and as accurate as your shooting capabilities are.

I'd recommend getting a 1911 that has good sights and front strap checkering.
