Wanting to add a 20ga SXS.......

It will gradually become easier to open and close with use. Choke tubes are good if you want to use the gun for various activities. More open chokes for skeet and waterfowl using steel shot. Tighter chokes for trap or high flying crows and even tighter if you want to really ruin a turkeys face

Glad to hear you're happy with the BW. I've had a couple guns with screw in chokes and you know what? I never change them. May as well be fixed.

I have one gun with screw-in chokes........I have probably changed them up twice since I bought the gun in 2004. Mind you, it's a 16 gauge Citori with 26" barrels. It doesn't get used for a lot of different things.

Choke tubes just get in the way of my reasons to buy more guns. Who needs that crap.Laugh2

Don't get me started on chokes after that browning 20g debacle ,but my 12 g cynergy patterns really well with imp. cyl over anything else so that's what stays in .The new CZ seems to work really well with the mod. so it will stay in too, moral don't change much on my hunting guns .

...to my lot and am on the fence as to where to go with this. I would like a CZ Bobwhite as I am told they are a decent quality for the price and I am coming around to the screw in chokes (have opposed them for decades). I think this would be the "logical" option to use for clays and upland. Have also been looking at some higher end stuff like AYA sidelocks, Baretta, and pretty much anything that has reasonable quality and features I want that include double triggers, straight stock and LOP, DAC and DAH but few of those have screw in chokes and choosing fixed chokes is daunting when wanting to use it for more than one shooting discipline. Prefer extractors but ejectors would not be a deal breaker. I have little experience with suppository shotguns so any and all advice would be welcome. .

I have a turkish Akkar Churchill in 20ga (and I have a 12ga on the way!). It's very light (about 5.5lbs), single trigger with selector and extractors. 5 chokes. They come in both english straight stock and standard.

Someone on here mentionned they are some of the better Turkish SxS available and I would tend to agree.

Speaking of reasonably priced 20 SxS... anybody got experience with R.F.M. Armi ? The Venus seems nice enough.
- Scaled down action
- You get to pick you barrel length/choke/triggers...

I don't have any first hand knowledge but in following the efforts of the Upland Company to get their gun line off the ground, as the maker for Upland, people have been talking about RFM. I'm hearing generally positive comments on RFM made guns. A consensus seems to be developing in the US that, when sourced as a Upland Company gun, they are a bit pricey. But when bought directly as a RFM gun, well priced in the market for Italian guns.

I was looking at a FAIR Iside Tartaruga Gold configured to my preferences and an identically configured RFM. The RFM was $500 to $1000 more than the FAIR and, according to Will, worth the extra money. (Yes, he imports directly from RFM.)

Bilozir has an RFM 20 gauge over/under that I’ve handled and examined closely. Gorgeous, great value. Not my preferred configuration or I would have bought it on the spot. I’m still wrestling with the idea of a custom RFM.

I will be interested to see what you think of the 20.Reliable (where I bought my CZ project upland 12) just e mailed to say that probably couple more weeks before they get another, but they have several 20g. will follow your thoughts
So, I have put just over a flat of shells through my CZ 20GA and so far I can't find anything to NOT LIKE about it (other than the screw in chokes but that is me, not the gun). Gun has functioned flawlessly, handles and points VERY well and breaks clays consistently if I do my part with no barrel jump and VERY light recoil making followup shots a pleasure. The triggers seem to be just right as well. Time will tell but so far, IMO this thing is a winner as a utility gun. Still would like (and am looking for) a high end sidekick though.
