Wanting to get into 3 gun

I'll tell you why I'm asking: my GF (bless her heart) says she wants to get into 3 Gun with me. The problem is, she's only 5 Ft tall and petite. Although she hasn't shot my 12 Ga, I think she'll find the recoil a turn off. I've been doing some research and I've been looking at a Remington 11-87 Sportsman Youth Compact. ( h ttp://www.guns.com/reviews/remington-model-11-87-sportsman-youth-compact/ ) Any experience/opinions?

I've been thinking about getting into the sport of 3 gun and I have been trying to put together a list of necessities. I already have my handgun and three mags but I'm wondering what other gear and such that I will require. I'm not looking to break the bank (just yet) so my question to you guys and gals is what would be a great set up for a beginner who would like to give the sport a try! Would love to hear your opinions!

Thanks a lot,

Evan :)

I haven't read all the replies, so apologies if this is a repeat, but you might want to start out with IDPA pistol competition. You only need a standard range kit (stock pistol, holster, 4 [not 3] mags), and a gun belt like an inner duty belt. It's more than enough to remember what you have to do for 1 gun, let alone three and it's the least expensive shooting sport. Usually about 50-75 rounds shot on a club night. You can work up to 3 gun as you get more proficient.
