I hit up Bills Bait and Tackle in Hamilton yesterday to renew my hunting license. While I was there I talked to another costumer who was telling me the coyotes in St Williams have gotten so bad that farmers are actually posting signs "Hunters Welcome" He also told me (dont know if I believe this part) that the MNR came in and actually gassed a bunch of dens.

St Williams is a bit too far for me to drive (I am a lazy hunter) but if anyone is interested in going for a drive I thought I would post this info.

It wouldn't be CO's gassing dens. It would be an outside contract, I know of one company that does that sort of thing.

Also realistically gassing dens isn't something you do to control Coyotes.

I've only heard of it being done for Ground hogs.

I live 15 miles from. St. Williams and work with people who live there and I haven't heard any of this. My ma grew up there.

I recon what that county needs is a good lynchin, nothing keeps them cayotes at bay better than seeing their brothe hangin from a tree or a snare. I's also hears that setting a lower case "t" on fire keeps em at bay. You never hear of any cayote problems by Georgetown.

I know someone who has gassed on the prairies for groundhogs etc. I believe he was using regular ol' propane to choke the lil buggers (its heavier than air and thats all that matters).
