Wartak Rail vs Magwedge Rail?

I have the gen 1 magwedge and my only 3 complains are that A.) right after I got it, the Gen 2 was released (not REALLY an issue since mine works just fine) , B.) I have tilted the rifle while cleaning and the rail came down on my thumb pretty hard, so again, not really an issue with the part as much as an issue with me getting used to controlling the rail better during cleaning LOL, lastly, this one was a legit issue, the set screw for the pin was terrible so I replaced it right away with a quick pin that I got through my work. I love it because my eyes arent good enough to use open sights at all and I needed a great scope mount option!

I must come up with a solution to "KwikRail thumb" now, LOL.

Wartak is thicker I own one, my good friend owns a magwedge kwickrail and has not ever reported any issues to me on it, I've also personally used his rifle at the range and not seen the vibrations but his rail is also fairly new.

Magwedge insists their is not and never has been vibration issues , even when more than a few have stated personally seeing or having the issue on this same forum.

Perhaps it was fixed with their reversion's , but i can say it definitely has never happened on my wartak rail and also has never been reported to have happened on one either.

I have never had a cheek weld issue either with the wartak on my sks.

Its up to you what you choose sir!

good luck.

I have only seen one poster report this actually happening. As far as I can tell any other comments were repetitions of this same story .... kind of how rumours start.

I must say I am unclear on exactly how one can get the reticle of a scope to vibrate for several seconds, but I seriously doubt it has anything to do with the "vibration" of the rail the scope is attached to. I should also point out that having tested the rails (both gen1 and gen2) that I personally have never witnessed any vibration of the rail, let alone for several seconds ... and if the vibration itself is imperceptible, so it seems any reaction resulting from said vibration.

It strikes me that this conclusion on the part of that user was somewhat speculative and did not involve serious effort at researching the actual cause of the phenomenon.

I do know that after having sold nearly 1000 rails that this is the only complaint of this kind I have ever seen.

It is truly unique .... however I suppose it does make for an interesting story, LOL.

Interesting to pick up a 10-year old thread.

The market is offering today Magwedge, Wartak and Kodiak.

Google AI claims Magwedge is the winner. I bought Magwedge. Upon running in the bushes I grabbed my SKS with one hand palm over the rail and fingers underneath the stock. This freaking rail bowed and stayed bent. I eyeballed straightening it up by bending up and down over a thumb 🤦

Upon assembly I lost a bolt in a pin. Customer service you say? Lol. $26.29 and it's yours. No more and never again. On the sidenote who could possibly call their product Kwikrail. So ###.

Oh, forgot: someone say it has a groove to see the front sight. That's what for? To shoot 10 feet in a circus range? Rear sight is removed so it's like to have a slingless slingshot.

Wartak could be fine but it's no better than Magwedge. Much stronger for sure. The same price range too. The downfall however is in the holes for the rear pin — they are too wide and without using a retaining washer this rail is useless. With wide holes and thin pin it has an up and down motion. Retaining washer is a solution but zero will eventually give up. Plus an absolutely useless idea of a 2-piece rail makes always wonder, genuinely: why?

The winner is Kodiak. Solid, sturdy, precise and flashy looking. Especially late model with white letters. Yum! Their customer service is top notch. Charged me a few bucks for a lettermail when asked to send me a spare pin (based on my previous experience with Kwik-lol-rail).

Something like this. In response to Magwedge revving about their nearly 1000 sales a decade ago 😉 Their quality may apply to an airsoft market, an air pump plinker but definitely not to an SKS.
