Wartak SKAR is anyone did know about this ?

It's not just the receiver that has to be modded. The bolt has to be modded as well as well as the trigger group.

If you're offering the rifle with the stock like they're doing what's stopping them from only getting one select "version" of the receiver from their supplier and only putting those receivers into the stock and modifying to fit the xcrl mags if there are diff receivers. I'll tell you why. Cuz they had no idea that the SKS can take xcrl mags. /end conversation. If they did they would have gone to the trouble of doi it as IMO it's a HUUUGE selling point.

Two scenarios;

1) Takes XCR mags = Competing with the XCR (at a WAY better price point).

2) Doesn't take XCR mags = Competing with CSA (for the same money).

You need to ask yourselves; Which category would we rather be competing in? (I think we all know the answer.)

A threaded barrel end so one could mount a muzzle brake of their choice would also be a nice option on this offering.
Maybe 5/8x24 or the metric VZ threading?

I just saw some new info posted on the TandTarms.com site saying they should be available this month (Feb). Looks like they are now offering muzzle threading in 14x1 RH same as VZ stuff. That is good idea. You can use all those 858/vz brakes on this now.:)

yes sorry I should have said rifle system LOL

Still no word on the chassis by itself. If it happens it will be well after the complete system has established itself on the market. I've spoken to the manufacturer and they are still batting the chassis idea around and they do want to do it, just nothing in the near future. Hope that helps to clear it up.

Also, sorry about misunderstanding what you meant by "stock". Your wording was correct, there are just too many meanings for stock, lol.

its getting a bit of buzz south of the border too but they cant import the rifle itself so its a no go for them.

Just spoke with the manufacturer of the SKAR's and here's an update for you regarding the Wartak SKAR SKS rifles. The company had no success with either the original or next magazine manufacturer so they looked for an alternative solution. They listened to the requests of many of us and found a way to make the Magpul AR P-Mags in 7.62x39 work perfectly in the new chassis so this is now the plan. They've placed a huge order with Magpul for the mags and they are being manufactured for the SKAR as I write this. They will be ready and shipping out in the very near future :) Rifles are already boxed and ready to head out the door as soon as the new mags arrive. Finally the best of both worlds in that they'll not only have a removable mag, an aluminum chassis and will house the AR mag platform!
