I note a Boys rifle and an accessory kit just showed up on Collectors source website. Makes me kind of glad I bought mine 8 years back before the prices went truly insane. I also bought my breech cover and accessories about 5 years back from out of the US. I thought I may have paid too much, but I am feeling better about it now.

The triple pouches on the back of the web belt are a new one on me. Anyone seen these before?

You can make up .55 Boys brass quite easily. You start with .50BMG, FL size, open the case-mouth to handle a .562" bullet. Then you very lightly knurl just at the base of the case body and sweat or low-temperature silver-solder on a headspacing belt and lathe-turn it to finished dimensions.

MUCH cheaper than original brass AND you can use standard BMG primers, too.

Boys deliberately started with the .50 BMG casing because it was already available. Bonus for us.pening out the mouth enabled the .562" projo to run at 44% more power than a full-house BMG round AND at lower pressures at the same time.

There is a REASON for all those big old casings.

Hope this helps.

But what would you make bullets from? I would assume lead would be too delicate for full pressure. Or you could buy some custom molds and dies and make your own?

Since you have the rifle, I found a socket for a Boys in the junk box. I would like to give it so someone who could use it. Markings, Rifle Boys Mk1
Not worth keeping , but too good to throw out
