Last night my lawn was just jumping with rabbits. You could see them eating the grass and clover where the snow had melted; you could hear them running through the hedgeway.

I was able to freeze a couple with a light. Can't shoot 'em tho.

Confounded night hunting laws. Back in the UK I'd have had 3-4 for sure; maybe half a dozen.

So at first light they cavort in the long grass < 30 metres from the road. In theory I could stand 120 meters back and shoot them (it's 150 m from a road bylaws here), aiming towards the road, but can I take the safe shot shooting from by the road into my land; no! So they're safe.

It's really like they are gaming the hunting laws just to annoy me.

Do I see any in the, legal to shoot, woods? Oh no - all too busy getting fat on the lawn.

i know how you are feeling about not being able to go lamping over here
you cant even use a whippet or lurcher

That's how I feel about squirrels, doves and rabbits on my lawn. Also, pretty sure I could get a limit of mallards off the dock at my grandmother's with my bow. They are always there feeding on acorns.

Nice.

I have some 6mm flobert someplace which I think works to a short range.

I have some CCI CB Long at 710 fps too. They are pretty good for the quiet close us stuff.
