Today I am rather bored and taking a break from working on the new business, so here I sit surfing CGN while launching 22 cal pellets from my triple deuce with primed cases. No powder, just sized cases, prime the case, stick a pellet in the end and fire!! What fun!!

Using up all the old SR primers I had kicking around couldn't be more entertaining! The pellets are so slow you can watch them in the scope, the only noise is the firing pin, and the pellet hitting the target!


Btw, kills squirrels at close range as well!!
 
I tried several types of 22 cal pellets, all exited the barrel. at about 15 yards all the pellets do is dent wood such as a telephone pole leaving a perfect imprint of the nose of the pellet. I wouldn't use them for anything larger than a squirrel, even then keep the range to feet, not yards.

At 15-20 yards these things drop like 2 feet... not much practical use, just lots of inexpensive fun!!

'Boo, as the 22-250 is a much larger case, I would be prepared to push a pellet out of the barrel in case the extra capacity won't allow the pelet to be propelled quick enough.

I also tried 1 grain Blue Dot, as that is what I had on hand, without firing through a chrono I would guess they are getting into 22short speeds and are quite a lot more powerful. I tried 2 grains as well, but since the whole idea was to use pellets and ONLY primers I decided not to try any more.

Yeah, that's how I head about it.

I heard about this trick a few years back. Never tried it.

Something to the effect of taking a 223 case, cutting out the primer pocket to take a Large Rifle primer, and drilling the flash hole out wide open to let the pressure thru' while leaving enough edge to seat the primer, then using a 22 pellet and a LR Magnum primer.

COOL.........there may actually be a use for a 223 after all....................is there any kind of accuracy level ? Now on the other hand I'll bet I could get that pellet over 5000 fps........;):rolleyes::evil:

Not at all, I didn't measure the pellets but it seemed like the skirt was slightly smaller than the head, once the pellet was in the casing up to the round head more resistance was felt.

I am not going to ream out for large rifle primers as I can still use the brass normally this way.

FYI, all I have tried so far was Remington 6 1/2's
