Was snooping around in Regina today at WSS and Cabela's. WSS had Weatherby SA-08 Deluxe 12 & 20 on for $665, $75 off regular price. We went to Cabela's. Same shotgun was $899.

Went back to WSS and scooped one of each. Came home, checked Cabela's.ca. Price was $749.

Slight difference in price between WSS and Cabela's....

Sounds like you got a good deal. I had thought about one in 12 gauge but in the last year I know of 3 people that had pretty much the same major problem . I can't explain it exactly but it was something like it appeared as though the bolts slammed back with too much force buggering the bolt, damaging the receiver and breaking part of the trigger group. All 3 guns had no more than a flat of off the shelf loads through them, your typical 1 1-8 oz #2 or #3 steel loads. So this kind of scared me away.

Thanks for the heads up.....it certainly does pay to shop around for the best price . I routinely see used firearms posted on the EE for sale with a higher price than what some of the dealers are selling the exact same firearm for brand new......buyer beware I guess....

Can't say for sure, but that sounds like they were firing heavy loads with the light load valve installed. That would raise havoc.
