3 years ago while in deer camp solo, I walked across the road in the dark to take a leak. As I was about to walk back to the tarped area I hear a noise above me in the bush. Looking up, my headlamp illuminated a pair of eyes looking at me from feet away. I couldn't make out what it was, just the eye shine.
Next morning a cougar came through my treestand spot in pursuit of some deer that had just passed through moments earlier.
I assume the eyes i saw in the bush a few feet away above me on the rock bank was that very same cougar but who knows.

Yeah, they are relatively certain it was a bear.
There are quite a few of them in that block.
Given the height off the ground, spacing and color of eye reflection it is an appropriate conclusion.

It's not uncommon in our neck of the woods in central Ontario when field dressing Deer in the late evening to have Coyotes circling waiting for a gut feed as soon as we've loaded the meat and left for the truck. If you leave anything behind and return to retrieve it,you'll be hard pressed to find one scrap left even a half hour later.
