Waterdown Spring 2010 Airgun Show - May 08, 2010

Despite mother nature's most vile attempts to put a damper on our show, the airgun community proved to be a very hardy bunch, and attended in record numbers, making the show a resounding success. There were lots of airguns and accessories of every description either on display, or for sale, and the covered shooting area was a bit cosy at times, but everyone had a great time shooting reactive targets of every sort.

Prior to the 50/50 draw, and the doorprize draws, a token of recognition and appreciation was presented to Noel Sedman - the gentleman that hosted the Elmira Airgun Show from 1997 through 2008 - a total of 21 shows. A commendable feat indeed, and a tradition that we hope to carry on.

I wish to thank everyone that assisted in making this show the success that it was:

- The Waterdown Rod & Gun Club for the use of the facility, and those members of the club that kindly opened the place up, and assisted with setting up all the tables.

- Mrs leonardj for all her help during the show.

- The Port Colborne Field Target Club for setting up the shooting range, and providing Range Officer services to ensure a safe and enjoyable day for all those participating, and also for providing chronograph services for those wishing to check their guns out.

- Those businesses and individuals that so generously donated doorprizes to the show.

- All those that set up a table to display their collections, or to offer their merchandise for sale.

- Everyone that braved the elements to attend the show, and become part of a very enjoyable day of airgun related activities.

As luck would have it, my digicam up and died before I got a single pic, so it would be most appreciated if anyone that did get some pics would post them to this thread. Thanks.

Hope everyone has a great summer, and we look forward to seeing you all again at the fall show.

Sorry I didn't look at the map included and drove to Waterford! My Dad and myself enjoyed the limited time we had there and made some purchases and more importantly meet the people involved and contacts!

That is too bad - but on the bright side, now you will be able to be there bright and early for subsequent shows.
If all goes as planned, we will be having another show in the fall, possibly Oct/Nov, so stay tuned to this section for the announcement.

IIRC, you were from St Catharines? If you are at all interested, there will be a Field Target match at the Port Colborne & District Conservation Club on Sat, May 15, so come on out and join us. Bring along your favourite rifle (20 FPE max.) and try shooting the match. First timers shoot for free, and you will be paired up with an experience FT shooter to help you learn the ropes. You can get more info by e-mailing this gentleman:

Something that I forgot to mention in my original post, is that not only did the club realize some much appreciated extra revenue, but some of the attendees were so impressed by the Waterdown club facilities, and their airgun range, that the club signed up 5 new members during the show !
Good stuff !

Leonardj, we met Tim in the shooting range and he sent an email, the only issue is its my Mom's Birthday Saturday, so still trying to get down! Can you PM me sniper's email or Sniper please pm me as I need to talk to you about a conversation we had at the show.
