Looking for any info on waterfowl hunting in or close to Chatham Kent.

Here's the deal. My hunting partners and I have been leasing a property to hunt - 144 acres of flooded timber, absolute magnificent for waterfowl, tons of geese and ducks through the whole season.. in heaven hunting here. But the landowner gave away the timber rights to a company and they have absolutely destroyed it, clear cut portions of the woodlot, drove right into the flooded timber area with machinery which has left huge oil slicks in the water. All the fish are now floating and the pond area is void of anything. It's a total loss now so we are now looking for other oportunities in Chatham Kent area. I have never hunted Rondeau bay but don't have an issue doing that, but I'd love some info from experienced hunters that have. We only have access to paddle craft- hunting equipped kayak and canoes and have two German Shorthaired pointers for retrieving. Trying to get things set up for the beginning of October...

Any help would be great.

I've hunted up at Hullet Marsh (near Clinton) last season a handful of times, which is probably about an hours and half to two hours away from you guys. Lots of birds, and since you have the canoes it will make your selection of blinds much better (you'll be able to access them all). Its surrounded by a lot of farm land so there are lots of feeding grounds for the birds to stay close by. I was hunting there up until mid November I believe so the birds (mainly geese at that point) stuck around for quite a while.

By any chance was that the Bradleys land you are talking about that got cut? I hunt quite a bit in rondeau, i walk out everywhere i can, all the other bay spots around the area, tough though because there is so much pressure from everyone else.

Knock on some doors and find the fields they want to be in, usually the farmers hate geese, we don't need to pay them, usually some pepperettes at the end of the season and a good handshake keeps them happy

Rondeau is good, like to get there a couple times a year
