Wax bullets.

Any body try shooting wax bullets at nuisance animals? They suck! Three yard shot did not penetrate. Primers do not seem to be enough and I think a powder charge is mandatory.

wax in 45 colt (with shotgun primer) will go through both sides of a 4 litre plastic antifreeze container at 20 ft. no problem.

kean, I hate be nieve but how in the world do you get a shotgun primer (209 I take it) in a 45 colt? Drill and insert?

When shooting nuisance animals with wax bullets, the idea is to give them a hard pinch to drive them away, penetration is not required, nor is it desirable. If the animal is too large or tough to be driven away with a wax pistol bullet hit, try a rubber 12 ga. round.

exactly lol. if you want penetration use a regular round not wax...

If you live in Montreal and shoot anything with any firearm, wax bullets or not, the local constabulary will be along shortly. You will lose ALL your firearms, your assorted expensive permits and likely end up as a guest of Her Majesty in one her correctional institutes.

Nevermind the bullet. Just empty the antifreeze container into a bowl and wait for the nuisance animals to drink from it. Quiet, effective and you won't attract the same attention as a bullet would.
