Wby MKV Bolt Stop Issue

Need help to solve a problem with a friends Weatherby (German) MKV. When the bolt is cycled quickly and firmly it is released completely from the rifle - about every second or third time. When the bolt is cycled gently there is no problem. I've checked the bolt stop which does not seem to be deformed and moves freely in its recess. The bolt stop raceway appears to be in good order. I am unable to determine the cause of this problem. Suggestions anyone? Attached photos show the bolt stop and bolt raceway.

Dis-assemble and clean the bolt stop mechanism first. While you have it apart, check the spring tension, it's probably weak from years of use. You can stretch it a little to increase the tension, or get a replacement (try Western Gun Parts in Edmonton). - dan

As suggested I cleaned the bolt stop mechanism and stretched the spring. Works like a charm. Thanks
