WCFCC Nokomis 2012 - June 28- July 1, 2012

Well, we will be staying at the SPA...

The local hotels have crews in and may not be able to accomodate us.

Most of the rooms are already booked at the SPA so give it some thought.

Looks like a comfy place to stay and relax after a day of getting beat on by the SK winds.

Comp breakfast sounds excellent and greatly offsets the cost of the room and hassle of trying to find food.

Keith,
Should have a minimum of 2 ppl per vehicle to save a bit on the firing point congestion.

Those with trucks should be able to pile a bunch of guys in an open box.

Just a thought.

31 guys signed up and approx 5 more team shooters that have not paid so "good to go" plus have a few locals that have not bellyed up yet :)

What ever is new you ask????

Now this may actually cause me more work. Now we only have 5 targets that use the same carrier system and the two new ones use a different carrier system. They will all have the same targets on them but I would bet you that the new ones can "happen" (down, re-plotted, patched, scored, up) in 3 sec where the old ones best is more like 5 sec. and someone could protest this. Or we run with 5 targets, 3 to a target and this may cause one more relay and longer days, or I pull it out and replace the old one (UUUUGGGGG) for this match!!! Myself, I'd like to run with the new ones, call ém 2a and 2b and rotate the shooters so everyone has a shot on the new ones so no one can protest, or can they... LOL??? Better yet, I tell the guys on the new faster ones to slow the F down LOL so everyone gets 5 sec service. I bet the crew will fight over which one they have to operate now LOL. The new ones go up and down with one finger, pretty easy to operate....

Dang those are nice targets !!! The guys who
Built them are probably masters of metal !!!

There will be no fighting over who will work those
Targets , it will be kassie and I , see no fighting

Keith, set all targets to 10secs..... no more problem.

Glad to hear the match is a go.

Shilen and Mystic Precision will be offering goodies for sure.

Working on Berger.

I assume sightron has already been dealt with?

Jerry

Luc says HE should be the "pit boss" therefor!!!

Nope, Gord Hulbert (peep sight shooter) is our pit boss. Gord and Jerry P. ran the pits for the 2011 US FCN in Sac so I'm sure he can handle it. Luc, you can be the bridesmaid pit boss, aka., just another puller but looking forward to having you Luc.

KS

Jerry, no sightron has NOT been dealt with. Emailed Peter D. but nothing yet from him/Hirsh Prec.

Actually the plan is to run what we have for this year and decide next winter.

Our new design was to get the mechanism out of the mud and to test the two 6x6 targets in one existing bay idea (we have 6 bays so it could be 12 targets up!). There is an actual natural water spring that comes out of the old carrier #5, then one that is leaning too far back to even work it, and all of them IMO will be issues over the years due to this and frost weaving, were on the catwalk which has been there for 30+ yrs, the system stays put, were installed.

Stan and Doug bought an e-target system from Dan down east and they hope to get it in and working on target 1.

An e-target system does have a payout where anything you have to man never will, i.e. carriers with paid markers but if we go to comp pulling and 3 relays always, I will always go to the new design myself. Less work and I know both systems well.

E-targets can have issues too. If you go sub-sonic, they dont hear the bullet and you can hit a mic too. We have problems keeping the radios charged, let alone 6 Samsung displays and batteries or gen-sets at the butts for the transmitter and at the firing point for the receiver. Weather conditions may even be issues with e-targets, time will tell I guess.

Here's a practice shoot we did last weekend on e-targets:

I hope to have Stan and Doug set up soon, so you guys can start developing experience with e-targets.

As of May 24th, we have 36 signed up for this match and there are 2 team shooters not paid (SG & GL) and 2 locals that say yes but are not in the bank yet (OS & LK) so really 40 guys, and that puts us into the black after all payouts (TCrew etc) and it also puts us into the 3rd relay and I will probably will get a few more in yet too the day of...

Team shooters... following guys are NOT on a team
Ambrose, Marshal FO
Carrier, Richard FO
Caunce, Carl FO
Dalgleish, John FO
Grant, Darrell FO
Hougham, Leon FO
Moroz, Robert FO
Nelson, Ken FO
Pomehichuk, Jerry FO
Rossington, Paul FO
Thibault, Marc FO
Zulak, Murray FO
Hamilton, Barry FTR
Harmes, Brian FTR
Murphy, Gord FTR

You can form teams (2FTR & 2FO) the day of the weight-in guys. There will be a sheet pinned up for you to pen your names in... Looks like it will be a great turn out and I hope a great match. See ya there guys!

Only 14 spots left (counting the 4 extra shooters on team etc)!

Berger shipment has arrived and I have some extra 22, 6.5 and 7mm and a bit of 30cal bullets.

For those wanting to pick up some at the Westerns, please contact me now. I am working with another shooter to get them out to save everyone shipping costs. I will be meeting up with him very soon to give him the bullets.

I will be flying so no extras are coming with me.

Let me know...

Jerry

There are still rooms available at the Nokomis Hotel if anyone is still looking for reasonably priced accommodations. Just call the hotel and ask for Tanya. She's got the whole hotel reserved for us for the weekend. Tell her you're coming for the Westerns and she'll set you up with a room.
