WCFCC Nokomis 2012 - June 28- July 1, 2012

Keith, if you have 16 positions then you should be able to have 8 teams shooting at one time. 4 shooters to a team and one coach. that's probably as many as will sign up for a team shoot.

Rich has it right. 6 frames, maybe more one day... but then we would have to widen the firing points too. Have had 18 shooters on the line at one time and it is tight. 4 teams of 4 would work fine and is more do able, harder for get the larger size I guess.... but we could have 2- 8 man teams too and then the wind coach could use a sighters from another shooter like he would at a 8 man event, if it gets wicked and I hope it does :)

BTW, 1 FR and 1 FO have already sent their forms and chqs in.

Going after donors for the prize table after Xmas, have to build us a rifle yet too. Have a smith lined up for the task already and I'm sure the actions are coming soon too. Just have to get everything else. Barrel, trigger, guard, stock, 3 way butt and an adj chk pc. and maybe a rail LOL. The 1st was won by GT, a complete 308 Coyote by PGW. The 2nd was won by AS, built by HRempel and I think it is going to be a 308 too. The 3rd will be too. Craig at AC Douglas has access to a good 308 reamer.

Just emailed the entry form and a poster and a request to possible sponsorship to past and a few new sponsors.
Hoping to get the prize table near what it was last year. Last year, table value exceeded $12,000.00
but the table value does not really matter IMO, as long as we get the shooters and they all go home happy.

BTW, we have 5 individual entries (2 FTR and 3 FO) and 1 sponsored team registered so far, Team PGW.

TEAM ENTRIES WILL BE MIXED TEAMS, MEANING 2 FTR AND 2 FO SHOOTERS PER TEAM.

Jan 24 Update: Possibly another sponsored team and 2 FTR and 7 FO entries in now.

I'm in.....I got pics of my scorecards to prove it too....LOL

Thanks Keith...... GO Team PGW (If I actually ever get my action)

Talked to Steve today and here is where my action lays:

Richard,

The receivers are done, the bolts are nitrided. I have to make up some single shot shrouds as the only ones done are the 3 position safety kind and I have never set those up for light triggers. These could be ready to go next week as everything is here. The mill is finishing a run of 550 3 pos safety units tomorrow, then I'm hijacking it to edit the program for single shots. I'll let you know when it is ready.

This is great news. I hope you and Abe get your actions very soon.

I'm happy for selfish reasons too. Once those special run shrouds are done my new 6.45x47L Open gun will be enroute too. It'll be the team back up gun in case one of the builds is not done in time or something goes sideways on the line.

Ask Matt W (out east) ... he was victimized by a run over! NF did wonders for him.

Not sure if we want to turn that into a yearly event, but heck ... if the MPRA wants to demonstrate on their rifles ... fill your boots!

Sean,

Is that "Plan R" as in "Plan Run over their guns with a truck before the team shoot"?

Yup, that's been tried, and I still won the match! That rifle still needs a bit more left wind than it used to, but they all go in the same spot. Thanks goodness for Burris signature zees w/ offset inserts!

I am really pleased to see the SPRA into the big game. I had a hand in getting the land for Nokomis range. Farky left this world too soon; F Class was his dream.
