The delay was caused by a something way beyond BA's control. A east indian guy went through security, they asked him to open his bag and he took off into the terminal with it, if anyone has ever been to Heathrow and 1/3 people would be of Indian appearence, so they closed and evacuated the entire terminal to make sure after the foiled terrorist plots just to make sure. We were delayed two days and missed two of our three scheduled days at the national park but no hunting days.

Something interesting did happen to me twice, I carry my guns in a red hard golfclub case with the guns in soft cases andf some coats ans stuff added to make sure they dont move and I identified the case as holding sporting guns first to the BA guy in Toronto and then the AC guy in TO on the way home and they both thought I said golf. On the way out the case actually made it into the bowels of Pearson airport not marked rifles and at least 10 British Airways employees were involved in getting it back and making sure it was appropriately tagged. When i got the the gate the lady said "Mr MacCool I just wanted to let you know we got your rifle case back and it is aboard the plane. I am in a service industry and I have to say I was really impressed with the save, any time in the future I am flying internationally I intend to fly BA in the World traveler plus section and all round tremendous experience.

and BTW AC never charged me the $50 fee either way from Ft McMurray ot Toronto and they never twitched at all about the rifles, infact in Toronto the lady asked me lots of questions about the Safari and when I told her the meat wasn't wasted she was very positive about the whole adventure.
