I found one!
I asked about a BRowning 300 Win Mag a month or so Ago, as it popped up on the radar for reasonable price of $750 with Boss on the end.... i never did hear back from old mate.
so that was ok- i enquired about a Savage 11 270WSM which wsa down about half price from RRP Aus prices, 2nd hand good cond... but i didnt really want to go standard savage unless a weather warrior... anyway

Today pops up a Browning A bolt II Left Hand bare rifle for $550 -- im straight onto it an first in best dressed- im able to deposit some money tomorow and pay off by end of jan- Stoked!

its a 30-06 :) :D

Happiest days, maybe the search for the 'ultimate' rifle stops here!?!?
will keep you guys posted on how it goes

Merry Christmas From AU

Todays ultimate is for sale.as.boring in two years....same goes for cars, golf clubs, women.

considering the rest are all RH or have been all RH, im looking rediculously forward to a LH rifle!

i have had a A bolt before and liked it but not the Cartridge...
lets hope it last more than 2 yrs lol

Nice, I was looking at left hand bolt actions a year or so ago and the Brownings were definitely nice to hold and shoulder for me, decided on something else but I’d happily pick one up at a later date.

You can’t go wrong with an A-Bolt. Is it the blued walnut, stainless or composite stalker?

The triggers are great once you cut the spring or install a lighter one. Accuracy is usually excellent. The 30/06 is a good choice with the 22” barrel. The magnums came with 26” which I thought was a bit long.

Good price too!

Not the tread that I thought it was going to be. Good on you for finding what you were looking for. Wishing you and your family a Merry Christmas.

I never did change my triggers ..But yeah they scaled not bad but seemed to pull heavy and i couldn't lighten them any more
The .300WM in stainless with the Boss is like holding a sword

Copy that mate! yep not too bad for AU prices for sure!! several fellas on the aussie forum i frequent were eyeing it off too so im glad i jumped in when i did!

its a Stainless version mate! keen on that!

AND YES the magazine is actually an Awesome idea~ i am a fan of that

Good find WL!! You can't go wrong with an A-bolt, especially in stainless. Ought-six is perfect for the size of critters you kill as well. I've had an A-bolt 30-06 since the early 90's, it never let me down and certainty piled up the deer and bear!

Congrats on the new rifle!

Once you've used a LH rifle, you may find that you'll want to change out all of your RH rifles for lefties! I know I did! (still have a number of right handed rifles as there isn't a choice for certain models that I wanted anyways! Like the lever actions and semi autos, and that Ruger 77 RSI)

Whenever I peruse the EE here, all I can think is OMG WTF at the incredible options available to right-hand shooters, and reflect on the amount of effort and expense we have to go through to end up with what we want. It is truly an underserved market segment, and a much larger one than the general public perceives.

hahaha, I know right! dont know any Rightys shootin leftys .. know allooott of leftys shootin rights though~

Yea I like the A-bolts and you`ll enjoy it a lot...!
Thanks mate- merry christmas to you an the fam.

Thank You mate! Oh i can hear you from here!! im really happy it is a 30-06 at the end of the day, I recently sold the XL7 3006 and often thought of the Cartridge an how well it had performed for Me in such short time.... Well, Welcome Back 3006 :)
those older A bolts are a solid, tough bit of gear for hunting

Congrats on the new rifle!

Ive also heard this mate and Im not that keen to leave the ol Kimber Montana in the shed but these things happen :D :p
it may just be a great excuse to loose a few other rifles though with the excuse that- they just aint left!
Thank you :) very stoked at this time of year.

I like the A bolt a lot, think you made a good choice. And the only problem with 30-06 is that it's such a good all-round cartridge, and therefore common, and therefore boring to some people.
