It was a quick and fun/exciting hunt.
A little background..
I went out for a deer scouting adventure last night and one of the fields I was watching had a ton (100's?)of geese landing in it with about 40 minutes of legal light.
So today I asked my neighbours boy if he would be interested in coming along because if the birds held their routine, we would be seeing lots of birds...
He was super excited and in....
We got there early and were all setup by 5:15...nothing to do but wait....and we waited, and waited and waited... it was 6:25 and not a goose was seen or heard. I was getting a little worried, maybe they found another spot for their evening feed?
I told my young partner, that's hunting, it could be feast or fathom....
As almost on cue we heard them.... honk, honk, honk, they were coming... We got ready and waited, I told the boy I would call it when they were almost touching the ground....
We had flock after flock come in, we limited out with the first 3 flocks of birds and then just watched as birds coming into the spread as we are picking up our birds...We had a blast...Too bad it wasn't early season because we could have easily gotten many more...
