We need to support Maxime Bernier

I have never joined a political party until now when I joined the PC's. I like Bernier's more libertarian stance. I'm not a fan of big government or nanny state government, nor am I interetsed in the divisive tone of Leitch or O'Leary's policies overall.

None of them are perfect and no candidate can be everything to everybody. For now, in broad policy terms, I believe Maxime Bernier is the way to go, and he will be getting my vote and $$ support.

Many of us agree on Max, but if we get to vote for our top 3 choices who are the other 2 that we should vote for? I'd think maybe O'Toole? Who else?

But again, he isn't the most likely to unseat Justin Trudeau and his regressive-leftist regime so...

If Bernier can beat Justin, or at least give him a run for his money (& put the Libs in a minority position w/ the CPC > Libs + NDP) then I'm on board with Maxime.

No way I would ever vote for Bernier I would vote for Kevin Oleary first lol.......... edit

I was referring to the guy that would rather vote O'Leary, who thinks there is no honour in the military, wants to outlaw unions and thinks no one should own an AR.

The question is not just "Who will do the best things for gun owners?"

There are a lot of other factors that should be considered.

What chance do they have of getting elected?
What are there stances on other issues?

Sheer beats out Bernier in my opinion. Bernier can't speak English nearly as good as Sheer can speak French. He also has some pretty big screw ups in his political career. I might even go so far as voting O'Toole ahead of Bernier.

Kellie Leitch for me. Legalizing pepper spray is a good first step. NO it's not concealed carry BUT at least it's better than havin' your pants around your ankles.

Im voting for Max ... although this election is sown up , O'leary has to much star power

Not sure about that. The ones who would be swayed by his star power are probably influenced by how much of nutbar Trump is and looking at how much of a joke he is turning into they may be swayed away.

I disagree. I'm not at all mesmerized his stardom, and don't think many at the card carrying/voting level of involvement are either. Maybe a different story in a general public election, but how many of his Facebook followers are actually party members who will be voting for a leader?

I like Maxime Bernier for his policies. It also helps he is from PQ... good or bad, statistics show that Joe Public likes to vote in PM's from La Belle Province. Plus, he's got a law and business background... not drama and skiing.:p

The U.S. economy is on the strongest rebound in years, he's keeping promises made. I wish our dear leader was half the man Trump is. I am voting for Bernier btw.

Us economy has been on the rebound for the last 10 years (the US left like to give Obama credit but Bush actually started the ball rolling). Has nothing to do with Trump.
He is trying to keep the promises he has made except that his inexperience is showing with two of his travel bans being shut down for being unconstitutional, still hasn't beaten ISIS and Hillary is walking free. He will stay in power as long as the GOP decide he is playing good monkey ( and from some of the rumblings going on with the the whole Trumpcare and Congress and Trump throwing each other under the bus for it, it may not be long)
All that said I think Bernier is the best chance the PC has for knocking the libs out.

I've got my membership, I saw him speak in Hamilton, Ontario and got to ask him a question. I asked if he would be open to reviewing the pre-june 2016 prohib list. He is, but he wants to make sure he has a firearms platform that is palatable to more people and to push the primary issues first.

The awesome thing is asking that question got me invited to a round table with Maxime and some people from the firearms community and the CCFR. In there he got several invites to the range and stated that he is also open to the idea of suppressors.

Not bad for the political event I've ever attended!

I'm really looking forward to the results of the Conservative Party race.

No autos?

Nope.

Baby steps my friend, baby steps. The media would be all over that and the population would be up in arms, getting our gun rights back will be a long fight! You should be happy that any candidate is campaigning to do anything for gun owners, what Bernier is proposing is groundbreaking in Canadian politics!

I wish our dumb dear leader had an IQ that was 50% higher and was any kind of man, period.
