we should give IPSC Canada a kick

Radagast, you don't have very many posts here so you really could be Wendy. Curtdad you don't have many posts either perhaps you are B. Ackerman. FYI I spoke with Quigley (for a long time) when he sent me his number so if you don't know anything have the brains to get the facts before shooting off your yap. From what I see both of you are Wendy and Bev.

I don't know why ?, how many posts a person has made would make a difference. Whether they have made 1 or 3000 has nothing to do with their ability to convey their idea's.
ICQ has a ##### with IPSC
My rational is the same with this man as with people who complain about politics and don't vote!!!! If your not a member of IPSC then you don't have the right to ##### & complain just the same as you don't have the right to ##### and compalin if you don't vote!!! Plain and simple if you want to complain join and then try to be elected and move your ajenda ahead. But be careful to much swampgas can make you lightheaded.

Can't spell,
not many posts
but still have a right to my opinion on IPSC
I pay my DUE's

ICQ, first and only warning, contined trolling or personal attacks/insults will result in a ban from this site. smarten up or get lost.

Rad- we don't have team coaches, our teams first time shooting together will happen at the Worlds. neat eh? perhaps if we had more money we could organize team practices and a coach, but I don't see that happening anytime soon.

The coach is also the manager, hotel booker, transport organiser, expeditor of passports, firearms permits, and ammmunition supply. He's usually a team selector and an IROA member.
The payment of his costs to visit the worlds is only partial recompense for the overall cost of doing his job.
Funnily enough, John Belman, probably our best manager in recent years quit as a result of threads like this on the Australian forum. He now goes pig hunting a lot. Our loss and his gain.
The actual coaching is done by our higher level shooters, such as Brody & Errol. At our Nationals before the world shoot most of the guys in contention for a slot will be squadded together as 'the god squad' where they can learn from each other. The normal intent os for the team to meet and train together prior to the worlds. This is of course dependent on members being able to get time off work and being able to travel to meet up. OZ, like Canada, is not a small country.

In reply to ICQ.

Translation: Having made un proven accusations I will require the group I am attacking to defend itself, rather than substantiating my claims. Also, I am the saviour, if you do not agree with me, then you are the enemy.

In reply to his one statement of fact, if he has spoken with Quigley, this is potentially good. He did not however bring this to the attention of the forum members that he has attempted to enturbulate until I held him to account for his actions. Nor has he posted that there has been any resolution of his grievances, or common ground found. He has not attempted to repair the dissent he has created, instead further unfounded allegations are made while calling upon the cover of authority (talking to Quigley) This is classic saboteur work.

As ICQ has been warned off, I will make no further posts on this matter.

I post under the nickname Radagast on the beretta forum, the high road, the firing line, and glock talk and under my own name on the IPSC Australia and Global Village forums.
I have represented IPSC on the NSW police ministers working party on the firearms regulations and on an interdisciplinary group meeting with the federal sports minister to ensure our Sydney range complex remained open or was replaced with a better facility.
Last time I shot I scored a B grade score. Usually I manage around A grade.

yup no coach, no manager no nothing. we are like trying to herd cats dude. we show up at the Worlds get our shirts and go shoot as a team. it'd be nice if more was available but I don't think our budget will allow for it.

Wow, have you read some of ICQ's other posts? At least 50% of them seems to be the "I am the saviour, if you do not agree with me, then you are the enemy." type of post. That's a lot of posts when you post as much as he/she does. He/she is not a happy camper! She because he could be Wendy...and/or Bev.

Yep, you got it right. It's actually Aussie! Aussie! Aussie! Oye! Oye! Oye! while waving a green and gold flag and a can of beer in a stadium.
Australians are only patriotic about sport. So are our little cousins the Kiwis. They like to wear T shirts that say 'I Support New Zealand - and any country playing Australia.'

Taking the metaphor a bit further:

Rob, motivating any group of shooters is like trying to herd cats. Cats are solitary hunters and so are shooters. Part of the mind set that comes with shooting is the idea of independence in defending oneself, independence in providing food, independence in testing ones skills against others. Unfortunately quite a few of us take that a bit further and become quite lone wolf in our attitudes. Which makes us easy prey for pack hunting vermin like the media. I don't have a solution for this unfortunately, other than to try and keep things civil so that more socially adaptable people are willing to join the game and bolster our numbers.

There is no way I can be selected for the Aussie team as I have missed the last two compulsory selection shoots. I'll put my hand up for a slot for the prematch, but there will be a lot of competition for the slots due to Bali being so close to OZ and being an Australian playground.
I may just turn up and be a spectator, or offer to be Vince's gopher. Do you know if you'll make the Canadian team?

you have to make it Ken, I am not sure Marcus will be in a good mood or a bad one, and I hear he's kinda zany that way. Maybe Scotty Sedon will be there again, and Jimbo, and Andrew, but you gotta make it.
hey I wonder if flying Canada to Aus to Bali would be a good choice?

Jim may make the team, if not he'll probably request a prematch slot. Scott hasn't made the selection shoots, so he is probably out. Marcus has dropped out of the IPSC scene, he's still around but not a regular. I'm not sure abut Andrew.
The Standard and Open teams will almost certainly be the same guys.

Flying through OZ with firearms will probably be a major hassle, We will hopefully have had a change of govt. by then, but a change of policy is unlikely. If you can fly direct to Bali, I would do that.

I never knew IPSC was a "Charitable" organization as per the Income Tax Act?

I do believe IPSC is a "Non-profit Corporation" and thus are allowed 10% of their budget for advocacy and as such are not prohibited from advocating their respective sports/activities as is with the prohibitive laws for Registered Charities.

When I pay my IPSC membership I am paying for a service and receive no receipt for income tax purposes thus IPSC is not a Registered Charity AFAIK.

To be honest I'm not sure about IPSC, I was careful not to say anything about IPSC proper because I don't know their legal organisation. However, UKPSA and USPSA are definitely organised as not-for-profit and cannot lobby politically. IPSC Canada I'm not 100% sure about either but I assume they are organised in a similar way to the other territories.
