I went to the range tonight (traditionally quiet Sunday nights) to do some weak hand practice. I have never done much weak hand practice, and was surprised at a club match that featured "a weak hand only stage" last weak. Anyways, that got me thinking that I need to practice this...

Anyways, I was surprised at my results. I was able to put 3 ten round mags into a 7 inch circle at 10 meters. It would have been 4 inches, save 3 flyers.
I did have a best of 10 rounds in 4 inches, 2 mags back to back. I thought this was pretty good. I am not an IPSC shooter, but I do love my club matches:)

I am shooting an XD40 (just love this gun BTW)

So how is it, really? I am not that sensitive, so if it's crap, lay it on me.
What are you guys shooting weak handed on a regular basis?

I am going to find out soon enough. My shooting arm is a mess and it's not getting any better. Tendons torn on both ends of one of my biceps.

I will begin my left-handed shooting career this week.:(

Just because it's "not normal", I think most shooters pay more attention to the basics like sight alignment and trigger squeeze when they're shooting weak-hand only.

I'm right handed but left eye dominant. :( A few years ago I broke my right wrist. I was forced to shoot with my left hand or not shoot. I shot as good as my right hand and with time improved on it. I was able to focus on the front sight better than when I shot with my right eye. When my right wrist got better I switched back. Like I said I am right handed. ;)

i always believed you should shoot your dominant eye. I'm left handed but right eye dominant. My IPSC scores are generally better shooting left handed than right handed- probably because i'm slower??

If you want to do a lot of left handed shooting try PPC... it's amazing how the pistol will torque compared to right handed shooitng

Ok if you shoot with two hands but for bullseye it is a pain.

I never tried this at all actually. I'm left eye dominant and right handed too. could be interesting...

Not a great thing. As JohnC said it is best if you could shoot with your dominant eye. Either that or a lot of training and exercise in order to make your brain use the right eye. When speed is an issue you are always best to use your dominant eye.

I rarely practice with my left hand, it is something I want to work on this year at the range.
