Wealthy Texan Trophy Hunter Killed by Buffalo He Was Tracking—Report

"Wealthy Texas trophy hunter"?? No doubt the words carefully chosen for maximum disdain and contempt.

PETA will be delighted!!
OH yes, all over social media idiots rejoicing that a family lost a husband and father. Sad that people are so vicious to each other.
I don't see it as any different than a mountain climber falling or back country skiers being buried in an avalanche. Risk goes with any outdoor sports especially the more extreme ones. At least he didn't suffer.

Sucks, But that's the risk you take when dangerous game hunting.

I've had a Cape Buffalo charge me before, But it was over 100 yards away when he commited. It was actually charging at the blue tick hound I had on lead. I was standing right beside the truck letting the dog take a piss. But my heart still dropped when I seen it coming, Scary #### even though I wasn't in any REAL danger. 🤣

Kinda irrelevant that all media mentions ‘wealthy’ lol….part of the lure is hunting ‘dangerous’ animal(s), so it’s somewhat par for the course and the saying ‘fack around and find out’. That being said, condolences to the family regardless.

Goes without saying that folks that hunt worldwide and book African safaris are wealthy. It isn't cheap and brings a great deal of money into rural Africa. Plus it has convinced many Africans that big game should be protected not poached as a continuous source of income.

The words "almost immediately" is likely a nice way of saying it took awhile
I hope I'm wrong and I truly feel bad for ygf family especially the Lil girl

I must question why take an ex wife to a hunting trip though?

Sometimes the bull, boar, mountain or motorcycle has to win. Without the risk, managed to a certain extent many things would lose their special appeal.
No attack is unprovoked; though we don’t always know or want to accept the reason. Animals don’t do anything for nothing. Neither do people. Even crazy people have crazy reasons for the crazy things they did😂

I in fact saw a lefty meme about this yesterday, but not knowing the story just let it pass as one of those mysteries they get on about.

Mr Bill mentioned the danger of being around ordinary domestic cattle- both my best friend and I separately learned not to take a dog on a lead when crossing an ordinary dairy pasture, both of us nearly having been killed by herds of holsteins while doing so. Both ourselves and the dogs would have been fine of course, if we had let them go... well, my friend had a GSD that might have taken out or crippled a cow or two, dooming itself in the long run.

When I first got online, I was viewing news posts in a small newspaper from the Bad homelands back in Northern Ireland and read a story about one of my grandfather's nephews having been killed by his own bull, that was quite a surprise.
