If..... they.....are..... not..... being..... attacked..... by..... large..... co-ordinated..... forces..... could..... mean..... they..... are..... feared.

Several Cdn units have got in tough spots and been bailed out by QRF, other subunits or sheer audacity (first Aussie AFSOC operations bailed out a CF entity that had run dry after a very long TIC)

Thanks for the clarification though you misunderstand the relative dynamics of the insurgency in Kandahar Province versus that of the Pak-Afghan border area.

the reason we use c8's -c7's and m4's m16's is the fact that troops can carry more ammo due to the fact that the munitions is lighter there for logistics are better for transport. AK47's are good guns dont get me wrong but the recoil is crazy and the sights are so so .

The US Army uses smaller COP's (Combat Operating Post) and have no LAV-3's in location. While not a LAV fan, it can dish out a lot of death and make sneeking up on rather tough with the II and thermal sights.

Is there a reason to using smaller COP's? I'm a civilian so I dont know much about how a military works, but I dont see how a smaller base makes sense since it can get overrun more easily.

I know because I've put a few thousand rounds through some of the weapons families being discussed here. A tour in the sandbox does not make one an expert on the M16 FOW or any other type of weapon - but it provides education in matters that Walter Mitty knows nothing about.

The AK type rifles can never be accurate like the M4 especially in rapid fire. I have pwned many noobs is CS using the AK while I used the M4. AKs are junk that's why mainly poor third world countries use them.
