weapons of choice this fall?

This fall (and every fall) will be using the trusty old 870 express super mag with 3 1/2 inch Kents for geese, and the same said shooting stick, but with a rifled barrel, a saddle mount with a 2-7 power scope on top for deer. Choice ammo will be either Remington Core-Lokt or Winchester Supreme sabot slug.

I have a 870 12 gauge with a 28" barrel for grouse and partridge and I have the same gun with a 23" fully rifled barrel with a 2-7x33 scope on it and with Hornady Sabot slugs for deer or moose. A 30-06 for those long range shots that I don't think I can hit with the Remington

I bought a mint '68 Browning A5 in 3" mag near the end of last season. Used it a few times with excellent results, it'll be my primary waterfowl gun for sure.
For grouse and the occasional waterfowl hunt, I'll use my SKB XL900 auto (same as the Ithaca xl900).
My trusty 870 Wingmaster ap (early 50's vintage) will make all trips as either my backup gun for waterfowl or to pop a few grouse just for old times sake... I've had the Wingmaster over 30 years now and it's served me well, a few issues with my pinned elbow and biceps tendon surgery on the other arm caused some problems pumping for me last year so I looked around for an auto. Fortunate to find the A5 as a fellow from work had just inherited it and it had only a box of shells through it!
Happy shooting guys, geese open next weekend out here around Vancouver!
