In Canada we buy from a distributor, not directly from Ruger. Ruger would have no idea when it was transferred to our inventory. That gun was transferred to our inventory from the Ruger distributor on June 8/19. As we told you we see dirty guns all the time from Ruger. We also see dirty guns from test firing all the time from Savage and S&W. We get this call multiple times a week and we always explain it the same. You did get 15% off of it and we offered to bump it up to 18% because it was dirty from the the factory.

Would you be happy with your explanation if you bought a new car from a dealership and it had dents and scratches on it and the salesman said "well that's how the transport company delivered them soooo......"

Or maybe an additional 3% off the price would smooth it over?

You should have sent it back to your distributor upon delivery inspection, not pass it along to the customer to deal with.

Maybe Ruger sold it to a retailer in the US in 2016, and the US retailer returned it to ruger , who than shipped it to the Canadian distributor????????

I went on the Ruger Forum for my own curiosity and this is what I found-

ALL PISTOLS are fired,.." by Federal Law they have to test fire every gun they produce and stamp with Proof Marks"

Some are fired up to 3 rounds.
they are supposed to clean them after,...But some DO leave Dirty they said.
Sometimes they are found "faulty" . then they are repaired and fired again. could be multiple shots fired at that point.
well...now I know. LOL

I bought 2 handguns at the same time and have a paid for GSG-16 preorder through The Ammo Source currently. The Girsan Yavuz 16 I bought was great and I'm really looking forward to my GSG-16. I've bought multiple other guns and parts for the Stag-10 I built through them to. I'm not a first time customer.

I would've been happy with even an apology and a couple boxes of .22 rounds for my GSG or some handgun ammo, maybe a free drum mag if they were feeling generous. But I didn't even get a "sorry that happened" from anyone. Ammo Source just blamed Ruger and Ruger just blamed Ammo Source.

I can do that for you....drop me a PM on here.

I wasn't trying to avoid the issue, I was trying to explain before that we see them all the time like that and it is pretty normal these days. A lot of manufactures aren't cleaning guns after test firing. I don't know if it is budget cutbacks. When we ask the the manufactures about it they said it is to show it is has been test fired. Savage and S&W are probably the worst for shipping out dirty guns after test firing.
