Just looking for some thoughts on these guns.

Found both at a reasonable price, and not a lot of info out there on the Weatherby. The Beretta has mostly good reviews , but the bad ones make me nervous.

Thanks for the input.

Having shot both the beretta a300 felt better to me and swung smoother. The wby felt lighter and recoiled noticably more with alot more muzzle rise. Id take the beretta myself. That said if the wby fit me better id likely opt for it dispite liking the beretta gun more

If you like the a300 outlander don't try a beretta a400 lol. Everyone who has compared their a300 to my a400 xplor has preferred the 400. Not to say theres anything wrong with the a300. The a400 is lighter. That said if i found a good deal on a wood stocked a300 i could be tempted to buy one fairly easily

Which version did you choose wood or synthetic?

I got the synthetic camo version. It will be mostly for waterfowl so the camp is an extra help for layout blinds.

I got to handle a beretta in the fall, I believe it was the A400, but the pistol grip felt fat and out of place to me. This 300 feels very good in the hands. Has a touch more weight that my older Weatherby, but sure swings nice, and will likely help a bit with recoil mitigation.

My buddy has the same model and loves it. I prefer the wood version. Im glad you found a gun that fits. Give it a good break in with some heavier loads and it should run just fine
