I am sure this has been Talked about before but I guess I miseed it :confused:I am buying a New Rifle and it's going to be a
Weatherby MK5 in .257 , Now the big decision , do i spend the extra Cash and go with the Accumark ?? or buy the lower priced Synthetic ?? I have read all about the Accumark and I know it has some accuracy enhancement's But is the extra cost worth it ?? I will be useing it for Hunting and I also do a lot of Shooting at the Range , and I make my own Hand load's as well
I have a Wad of Cash burning a Hole in my Pocket
Any help would be appreciated

Honestly, I would buy a Vanguard Sub-Moa before either of those. They shoot very, very well for the money and they are half the price of a Accumark. that is just MHO. But if the Mark V is your kitty, then pet it hard. Great cartridge choice.

Then consider a custom rifle built to your specifications. You choose the barrel length and contour, stock pattern and dimensions, and the overall weight of the rifle. If you have the money, get the gun built to suit you.

Weatherby Mark V are waaaay over priced for what you get. I learned this after owning one.

Id skip the Weatherby and order a Kimber in a heartbeat even a Sako 75 w/ a good synthetic stock both are proven tack drivers that don't skip on quality.

I was somwhat fooled into a Weatherby by equating price to quality but after my experience and reading alot of other Weatherby owners comments I try and pass this on to others.

Good luck in your search ;)

Cheers!!

Wich One ????

Thank's for all of the comment's ,
** REM338WIN ** Thank's for the PM , I have thought of going with a Custom , But don't really know of any custom builders or Any with a good reputation or how long it would take to have one Built, ETC
Would rather buy from a Gun Store or Possibly Wholesale Sport's where they are readily avaliable , I own 4 Browning rifles , Three of them are the Old Belgium Made fn's ( Safari Grade ) One is a >300 win Mag , one a 30.06 and a .338 Win mag , All are in Mint condition , the .300 only has about 20 round down the tube , I also own a Browning Composite Stalker in .338 that I use for Moose hunting , I was thinking of Buying another A bolt but can't find one
in 25.06 , I am going to continue to Shop Around :50cal:

257

I built a 257 weatherby on a 700 action with a Mcmillan stock, Gaillard barrel and smithing was $2000.00 and it shoots .5'' groups with different loads(3 at least). (that is about the price of an accumark). with better components and I would bet it is more accurate.

Call Rod at Corlane sporting goods in Dawson Creek to discuss building a rifle. They do top quality work for fair prices. They have a website called RockyMountainRifles.
