I was at Wholesale Sports in Calgary looking for a new .22 last night and I saw this amazingly beautiful gun with an incredibly polished stock sitting with the other bolt action .22s... So of course I asked what the hell it was. The salesman grabs it (clears the action of course) and hands it to me. It's a Weatherby Mark XXII! Damn! this was the ###iest .22 I have ever held. The finish was flawless, the action was sooooo smooth and the stock was unlike anything I have ever seen on a rimfire before.... Full monte carlo and that beautiful deep satin finish...
The salesguy told me that the actions are made by Anschutz and the guns are assembled onto Weatherby stocks, by Weatherby. The only kicker is the price. But you probably knew that the minute you saw "Weatherby" in the title. $929 in .22LR and $949 in .17HMR.
I almost hate to say it, but I am seriously considering the .22... Does anyone haver any experience with these guns? I'd like to hear a little about the before I commit that kind of cash to a rimfire.
thanks guys!
