I am looking at a new wetherby mark22 and was wondering if any one has one or know anyone that has one. I dont know much about weatherby and if if any body has any insight about weatherby please let me know. I know it has a anshutz action in it and is just a beautiful rifle for around 1000.00 buck

They are a very nice looking gun and do use an Anschutz 64 Sporter action. A friend has one, and I have shot it. It feels and looks like a centerfire gun. The barrel is skinny, and the trigger pull fairly hefty (5 lbs??). We have not done a lot of head to head shooting but with target ammo I seem to easily be able to out shoot it with my Savage BTVS. The XXII does a little better with HV ammo, but I still think I can edge it out. My Savage is pillar bedded, with a heavy barrel, and the trigger pull adjusted down to about 12 oz, so perhaps not a totally fair competition.

Short story is that is very good quality and looks nice, but, don't expect Anschutz Model 54 Target Action accuracy.

I have a mark xxii in 17hmr and it's fantastic. I haven't shot it off of a bench yet since it has only been used to shoot gophers, but the test target was a 5 shot group at 55 yards that created a ragged hole and measured .4 inches end to end. So easily a sub moa rifle.

i have one in 22lr .i put a leupold vx11 3 to 9 x33 efr scope on it .i took it out hunting last fall for grouse .a very nice handling and shooting 22 .
