Weatherby Mark V Question

I would like hear from the Weatherby Mark V experts on the following questions.
Does a German Weatherby Mark V action and trigger guard assembly fit into a Japan or USA rifle stock? If it doesn't, can it be modified to fit?

The rifle is very similar to this, the safety is on the right side, the same as a Remington, and not attached to the shroud, as like most Weatherby Mark V's.

I do believe as long as it is the 9 lug bolt it should work.
Some very early rifles were a Mauser type action that would be a lot different.
 
I cannot give opinion on the German into Japan stock BUT The German actions have Pot Metal trigger housings and they do crack and can make the gun unsafe. I have several old German action Mark V's and found that about ten years ago the firing pin would go off when I closed the bolt. Surprise !!! This was easily fixed by changing toe a Timney trigger. The old pot metal housing had cracks in it. I decided to replace al the older style I know the Made in USA actions have steel housings. The Timneny Trigger is also a great upgrade.

But I cannot answer your specific question about the stocks.

if i remember there are 2 kinds of weatherby made in germany: the ones like mauser 98 and then the mark V made by sauer.
i always preferred the made in japan version of the mark V and did not like that much the european or us versions but that is just me.

there are some differences for the bases for ring fitting between us and japan made ones.

I have experienced that issue when afield hunting moose. My German Weatherby, 300 Weatherby Mag went wonky during that hunt and replaced it with a Timney as well. I still need to know things regarding my initial post.
 
Yes, the one you show should fit with the removal small amount of wood for the safety. Also may need a little fitting of the floor plate. If memory serves me, some if not all, German floorplates were ever so slightly larger.
