Hi folks,

I posted a while back asking for info on Weatherby Mark XII semi-auto rifles and received some excellent feedback. The rifle I was interested in arrived and turned out to be an early model Italian model. While it was in excellent condition, it was filthy with grey dust and carbon. The bolt movement was very gritty, so to avoid wearing down the action, I've begun breaking it down for a very good cleaning.

I'm presently at the following stage:
- receiver/barrel removed from stock
- trigger group removed from stock
- bolt removed from receiver
- recoil spring/guide and firing pin removed from bolt

I have two questions concering further disassembly:

1) How to remove the extractor from the bolt --- it is spring-loaded, but I can't see any obvious pin to push out.

2) How the trigger group can be broken down, or if it's even advisiable.

Does anyone have a schematic, by chance?

Thanks!

If I have a question with mine, I post at Weatherby Nation

There usually pretty good there with helping anyone out.
Good luck!

Thanks for the advice on WeatherbyNation --- I've signed up and posted my question there. The link to Steves Pages was also much appreciated.

I took a closer look at the trigger assembly and there appear to be stake marks around each pin, which suggests to me that it's inadvisable to disassemble. I'm now wondering if there any plastic parts that might be affected by the spray cleaner --- hopefully I'll get some info from the nation.

Much appreciated and I'll post pictures once the rifle is back together.
