Hey folks,
Is there anything I can do about this or is this just inherent to the design?
It's much harder to pump compared to even a broken in 870 Express, much less a Wingmaster.

I've tried a disassemble & clean, lube, couple boxes of shells, and dry cycling it a few hundred times and it's not getting any smoother.

Maybe not cleaning and lubing often enough? The PA-459 TR likes to be a bit pampered. I have four of them. The oldest one (1000-1500 of slug rds, and I don't know how many more of bird and buck rds) racks so smoothly (like hot butter) that I could rack it twice, in the time it takes to rack a Moss 500 or Rem 870 once. My 3 newer ones, aren't quite as smooth yet, but they need several hundred more slug rds before those PA-459's are broken in. My first one took about 250 rds of slugs before it morphed into a dream machine. Anyway, yours should've racked smoothly the very first time, even if a bit stiff. If you contact Weatherby, even though the gun is long discontinued, they'll still honor the warranty and tell you which gunsmith to send it to.
