Touble ejecting, three out of ten will not eject properly, the rifle is new and has had this problem from the begining, any thoughts.

....can you provide maybe a little information?

What model of rifle?

How is it failing to eject?

Do you have any pictures of the bolt face or extractor?

new weatherby/anshutz

the most prob was with the ammerican eagle - 4/10 failure to extract. Rem jellowjackets 2/10 failure to extract. CCI mini mags 2/10 failure to extract. have fired roughly 500 rds. extractors seem fine. could it be poor ammo in a match grade chamber? Might better quality ammo or more break in time be the solution. my brother inlaws t-bolt wll cycle anything and this is my only reference

thanks in advance for any help

thats it. purchased 6 mths ago

cartridge actually extracts but lays on the magazine and have to turn rifle on side to get shell casing out (sorry about confusion) have tried vigourously working the bolt to see if helped but doesn't seem to make a difference.

The extractor should flip the cartridge out and clear the firearm by about 2 feet. If it's laying on top of the magazine, the gun is defective.

BTW, you could have just bought a savage mark 2 with accutrigger for $199 that will shoot sub MOA out of the box. It has a nice dual extractor design which flings the spent case very convincingly.
