I have a brand new Weatherby S2, but ran into some really weird problems at the range and just wondered if anyone else has experienced.
1) Shot some Norinco ammo out of it. It seemed to want to pierce the primers 1 out of 3 or 4 shots. First rifle to do that in my collection. It was only with the norc stuff. My mini and Rem 700 does not have that happen...ever...with the norc ammo.
2) Also had a new shooter try out rifle. She was very delicate with the bolt (very softly and delicately operating the bolt) and of those times, I had 4 out of 5 times the firing pin would lightly touch the primer, but not enough to set it off. The ammo - Handloads, Hornady, American Eagle, Winchester white box and Norinco. I would then operate the rifle normally (with a bit of authority), and every shot fired. Why would there be this difference - light or soft operation?
