Has anybody had any hands on experience with Weatherby SA-08? What do you think of their dual valve gas system?

Bass Pro has the last one for $525 or so in plastic-fantastic :)

I do, just got it. LOVE IT! Wasn't expecting much for what its worth but it has definitely surprised me. They are very light and well balanced. Simple design, plastic parts are minimal. Machining of parts was well done as is fit and finish. I've had more expensive autoloaders and its hard to justify their price tag now. Not so pretty from the outside but functions just as good. I like the slim forend. But make sure you hold it and see how it fits. If you have smaller hands the trigger can be a bit of a reach. Haven't tried the different valves yet. Just the light one to shoot bulk packs of Federal target loads. No issues. Some see it as a hassle to have to change the valves but It takes less than 30 seconds and shouldn't have to change them very often.

Thank you kindly for the reply. I appreciate your input on this one.
I'm seriously considering. How is the weight? How is the balance? Some say because of its light weight, it kicks like a mule. Does it?
As to the changing of valves, I don't see it being any problem at all either :) It's not that you need to change them in a hurry or something. One day, you go to shoot some clays, put the light one on, the other day, when you go geese or duck hunting, put the heavy loads one in preparation for the hunt. Shouldn't be a big deal at all, especially when it's prices 1/2 to 1/3 or other more expensive semis :)
If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay for it? Where did you get it from?
Bass Pro has the only last one in plastic-fantastic but I haven't seen them anywhere else. Can you provide me with the source, please? :)

Thank you.

It's the lightest shotgun I've ever had besides a 20ga single shot. Kicks a bit, but not as much as you might think (no aftermarket recoil pads available that I can find). With the two valves it will cycle pretty much anything. I severly overpaid at Canadian Tire but I had a lot of gift cards from Christmas and birthday so it was only $120 out of my pocket. Price tag was $599. You can order them online at Cabelas.ca and a few other dealers on the EE for $600 tax in shipped to your door. There's a beautiful 20ga delux version on the EE right now I've had my eye on.

Thank you for the comprehensive review. Yes, I've seen the 20ga also but want the 12 ga in wood.
Will look into it seriously.

I currently have a 20 ga Deluxe (wood hardware) on EE, the only reason I'm selling it is I have too many other shotguns (did I just say too many? Impossible!) any way I and my wife only fired a few rounds out of it but function was perfect and the finish is really good, it came with a small mark in the finish on the stock but otherwise is really well put together. It is 'lithe' for a semi shot gun, light and balanced = fast. I wouldn't suggest it for a lady starting out unless she understands recoil, it's light and you feel some recoil because of that, not sure what that would be like in 12 ga but its certainly not too bad in 20 ga, just something to be aware of.

Yes, I remember seeing it on EE. Got interested but was looking for 12 ga.

Thank you for the input.
