I'm considering purchasing a used SA-08 12ga, 28" synthetic from a guy. It would be my first shotgun. What are peoples experiences with this gun? I've heard quality is a concern because it is manufactured in Turkey. What about cycling various loads? I've heard of some semi's having some trouble with the lighter loads.

I have one and love it. I've put about 3000 rounds through it and have only had two jams ever. That's pretty impressive for an auto shotgun. I've shot clays, as well as taken it to the duck pond. It has never let me down. My only regret is that I didn't get the wood model. The wood on the weatherbys are unreal for the price.

Also, on a side note, the recoil is significantly reduced by the semi auto action compared to a pump action.

Don't let the fact that it is made in Turkey discourage you from buying this shotgun. If you dig around you'll find that these have an excellent reputation for reliability regardless of price.
 
I just bought one in 20 gauge for my sons first turkey hunt. We put 60 or 70 rounds through it last weekend, federal bulk target loads and no jams. It's nice and light and not much recoil.

A friend recommended it highly after putting lots of rounds through one.
 
Buy it, you'll like it. Turkey or not, its well made. Probablly the lightest 12ga semi I've had yet. Zero issues so far, even with Winchester universal 100rd bulk ammo garbage. If I had one complaint is that the grip is a little long, makes for a bit of a reach to the trigger if you have smaller hands. Not a deal breaker, just took some getting used to.
 
I have one and like it, cheap and works well. If it gets banged up and the odd rust spot it shouldent brake ur heart too much. All they are is an old beretta design that Weatherby bought ( Beretta m303)
 
Planning on getting one myself. I have not heard a bad review form an actual owner yet. Turkish guns had a history, but it seems history is what it is (in this regard anyway). If Weatherby is willing to put their name on it and their customer service behind it, then you can't lose. My biggest problem is deciding if the Deluxe is worth $160 more than the synthetic, or just take the used 20ga upland I've seen for $600.
 
Anyone know if 1) the stock for a 12 and a 20 GA is interchageable and 2) where can I get youth stock in Canada?
