I was looking on the Weatherby web site and saw they had some good looking shotguns does anybody have one and if so are they worth the coin that they are asking for???

I would look at SKB for a similar shotgun, as the o/u are made by the same outfit. Resale on any of those stinks even if they are good guns. I would stick to Beretta or Browning. Both have a long standing reputation and are easely traded.
Best regards,
Henry:cool:

Weatherby O/U shotguns are made in Japan by SKB. Browning O/Us are made in Japan by Miruko (spelling?). I own both. The Weatherby's sell for much less money, are as good as any Brownings I have encountered. That being said the W guns have a lower resale value in all likelyhood due to less marketing power. Both companys do not have a great record for customer service with the W guns having slightly better than the B guns.

As to the single trigger - double trigger question. Double triggers give a hunter a instant choice of choke as apposed to fumbling for a selector while your flushing bird gets farher and farher away. For the mostpart only some Spanish O/Us sport dbl triggers unless ordered custom fron the maker. Cheers!

My older Orion O/U has a single trigger but unlike many others it is not inertia cocked. This does lead to a harder opening when both barrels have been fired as you are actually cocking both barrels The difference after 2 shots compared to 1 is noticable. If one barrel fails to fire all that is needed is to pull again. It also comes in handy when one has the gun broken after firing one shot. Should a bird flush you can immediately slam it closed and the second barrel will fire on the second trigger pull even if the first barrel was not reloaded in the rush.
I do find the Orion a heavy gun for upland hunting but as it is the one gun iIuse for both migratory and upland it serves the purpose.

Those SxS jobs are actually boxlocks with dummy sideplates, just so you know. Not true sidelocks, as they appear to be.

But they look gorgeous!
