Hey folks, I have a Weatherby Synthetic and for my style and preference of shooting, find that the factory trigger is way too sensitive for me. In other words, want to stiffen it up a bit. Are those triggers adjustable?

I don't believe the first series have an adjustable trigger. However i did find that Brownells has adjustable triggers for them, you should be able to find on in Canada. Also a lot of people were putting Timney triggers in the S1 vanguards.

I picked up 2 S1 Vanguards last winter and spent quite a bit of time researching how to adjust those triggers, I adjusted the pull weight and sear engagement as above mentioned and dismantled and cleaned up the sear faces. In the end it was definitely better, maybe got it to about 4lbs with a nice crisp break, I don't mind it so much for hunting but it is still a bit heavy for me at the range when I'm trying to work up loads. In the end.....I'll be getting some timneys for them this winter, it was a bit of screwing around to work these as I had never done this before and I must also be honest with myself and accept the fact that there is a possibility that I did something wrong and therefore a safety issue is always part of the equation.

Oops just noticed yours is too sensitive, opposite of what these triggers normally are like, oh well my .2 anyway

Sobo I was just thinking, did you buy it new or used, if it's used i wonder if someone did the trigger already, if that's the case and it really is very sensitive be carefull with it, I remember when adjusting mine there was a very fine line between good sear engagement and iffy sear engagement, even though the iffy sear engagement gave the lightest pull if there was even the slightest malfunction with those sears when working the bolt to ####, the firing pin may release when lowering the bolt handle because the sears did not engage.

Bought brand new...so used to those military and heavy triggers, I guess.
