From the Wby website:

Welcome to the next generation of Vanguard® rifles. Our new Series 2 takes the proven advantage of our popular Vanguard® action and gives it a whole new look, feel and level of performance. And, every Vanguard Series 2 is guaranteed to shoot SUB-MOA (.99" or less at 100 yards) right out of the box.

Match Quality Two-Stage Trigger is "creep free" for consistent let-off and is adjustable down to 2.5 lbs. Trigger housing is constructed of lightweight alloy.

Full Length 24" Barrel provides maximum velocity and increased accuracy. All barrels are cold hammer forged for long life.

Every Vanguard I own, or have owned, shoots MOA or less, but the trigger sucked. This will be a definite improvement.

Any one know how long before they are in Canada?

Ted

I have no idea when they may show up in Canada, but I'll give this post a bump as I'm mildly interested in them myself, hopefully someone can give you(us) an ETA?

So whats different other than the trigger and bringing back stainless?

Probably not much, but the horror stories about the old triggers kept me from wanting one too badly. I think the stock is new/different too?? If the trigger issue is resolved and the stock feels good when I shoulder one, I may have a hard time deciding between an X-Bolt Stainless Stalker and a Vanguard S2 in stainless....if the S2's show up in my neck of the woods anytime soon.

Most original Vanguard triggers Suck!! A new system is welcome. I have had great success with the Vanguard rifles [Also the Howas (same rifle, essentially)] They shoot well, are well built, and whether blue or stainless, they looked good enough that you didn't have to wear a bag over your head when you took one out. Regards, Eagleye.

Ted,

the answer i had this morning :

nothing in stainless before a long time and the new blued will show up in august, and they wont be at the US price but no increase if you compare with the ''old'' Vanguard prices at least for the blued version.

all the best.

Bump.

I want one, but cant find any for sale in Canada. I live in Nunavut so have to get it shipped.

Anyone know somewhere one might purchase a Vanguard S2?

I know DelSelins had a few, but they were sold before I had time to make an offer...:(

cou:Ot: Also wondering if it is possible to get ammo shipped by mail up here. The local gun shop does not have a great variety, plus they do not even carry many of the cartridges I am interested in. I have seen on a few of the sponsor pages that they can not ship ammo up, is that just their policy? Or could ammo be shipped to Iqaluit from the shops in the south to me as a private person?

this would be a perfect time to get into reloading ;)

Changes to vanguard 2: better stock composition, overmolded grips, hammer forged barrel, 2 stage smith adjustable trigger. Read this in a gun mag somewhere. And the stainless models were always $100-150 more so no difference there. Also, the first models all came with a target which they stopped doing for the most recent models (now they use some computer simulation program) so no way to see if your rifle is actually sub-moa when purchasing. All vanguards I've shot have been .75 to 1.5 moa at the most, but it's the principle I guess. For the gen 2s all rifles will be guaranteed sub-moa, no target.
