I have to deal with some stuff for the family of a friend who passed away. Most of his guns I have a pretty good idea of value.
The one I'm not sure about is a Weatherby Mark 5 stainless fluted 300. It's been hunted hard, he shot it lots but with light practice loads. He glass bedded it, how well, I don't know.
Just a ball park figure will do, I don't want the family to get ripped.

For me, a hard hunted rifle with scuffs is worth 500$ for quick sale. Weatherby or not. Just my opinion.

Well they are selling for about $2400 tax in.. They aren't cheap to buy new and aren't cheap to buy used, regardless of individuals opinions on here. Selling it for $500 is joke.

so with the description we have and no pictures. What would be your cash offer. ?.

Pretty pointless thread without pictures and a good look at the barrel and throat. Hard hunted to me means the stock is scratched and ding possibly cracked and the stainless barrel scratched up good with rust spots. So 500 is a good starting point!

"Light practice loads" in a 300 wby? Did he load it with cast bullets and black powder?
By your description, it could be an Accumark? Are the flutes blackened, rest of bbl stainless? Synthetic stock? Action black?

In rough shape with a high round count, don't expect more than $800 or so. I sold a clean one for $1200 a few months back.

I believe it is an Accumark with the blackened flutes.
As far a light loads, he shot a lot of 4759 with light bullets.
Thanks for the info, I figured around a thousand, just wanted to make sure I was in the ballpark.
