Weatherby Vanguard action ? forged or investment cast

Opinions on this action .Want to build a 6.5 300wsm for recreational target shooting / hunting. I like the fact that it is flat based and if it is a forging
like the weatherby web sight says it is it should be plenty strong?

Think if Weatherby says it is forged you can probably bet on it being true.

Vanguards are made in Japan by Howa. The action is a decent one. Not too much available in the way of aftermarket stocks, accessories. The same basic action, without Weatherby styling details, has been sold under the Howa, Mossberg and Smith & Wesson names.

Surprisingly, there are more lam stock for the Vanguard then for the Savage. Weird!!!

Triggers are now available too for light pulls.

If not for the fact that they were solid bolt and would need similar prep to the Rem, I would give one a try.

I really feel torn about buying Japanese made guns considering they virtually deny ownership of firearms to the Japanese public but don't mind making a buck via Weatherby and Browning from us.
