Weatherby Vanguard and Vanguard S2 bolts interchangeable?

Far as I am aware, the only diff in s1 and s2 are the 2 stage trigger on s2 and the upgraded synthetic stock on s2. Still use same action and barrel. I will add,that I have not physically confirmed this. However, I will when my s2 arrives this week.
I just swapped bolts on my S1 300wsm and S2 308 and they fit. That being said the bolts are not 100% identical as the s2 are not fully enclosed on the underside of the rear of the bolt shroud as the s1 is, there is now basically a cut out so you can see in to the rear of the bolt now from the bottom.

Of course. This one is going to be rechambered, and properly headspaced.

Rechambering a 270 Win to 270 Wby. Have a magnum action, McMillan stock, and going all the way!
Will put the magnum bolt into a fire camo S2 in 270, and build a lightweight 9.3X62 on the S1 and the McMillan.

I've got an S1 in 270 that I was thinking of rebarelling to 35 Whelen or 9.3x62. I have no idea who could do this, gunsmith-wise. Any tips?
Any gunsmith with a lathe can rebarrel a Vanguard. They are no different than most bolt actions out there.

Cost wise, what is the best route to go here? In the case of a rifle that will continue life as a hunting rifle, are you better off finding a take off sporter of any compatible manufacture and give rifle and all to a smith for fitting. Or, are you better off going with a new sporter blank?
