If it happens to land here for under $800 i'll be grabbing one for sure. Nice to see good things happening with the Vanguard line. Now, if only the make some 26 inch barrels!
26 inch barrels, nicer bottom metal, and a different bolt stop. Throw in a Mark V length mag box.
I'm not so sure.
Actually the Weatherby Vanguard 2 synthetic is $649 on Weatherby website but the average price for the same gun in Canada is $620, Vanguard Deluxe Weatherby price $1149, Canada average price $1050, Vanguard Back Country Weatherby price $1429, Canada average price $1280.
Prophet River just estimated pricing at $849 and a June ETA: http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php/1193637-Weatherby-Vanguard-375-HH-w-sights
That's a great price for what should be a great rifle. I wish they'd bring out the same model in a 338 (I have nothing against the 375, but I still have a truckload of 338 loading components).
The Weatherby Vanguard is available in 338 win mag.
Yes, I'm aware of that, but would like a factory iron-sighted rifle. The 338 is also not available in the stainless VG2, which would also be my preference.
Two stage trigger? Where do they think they are trying to market this thing? And I would have to get a better look at that rear sight...looks flimsy.
Wonder what the cost will be in Canadian dollars.
What about the Howa 1500 ? Is it available in 338 ?
I have a stainless 20" in 375 Ruger and its drilled and tapped for irons, best of all it has excellent function with anything tried and better accuracy than anticipated..
