Weatherby vanguard issues

Do as Mr. H always suggest.
Pressure under the tip of the fore stock between
the stock tip and barrel.
Six pounds pull seems the magic number he suggests.

There is approx 1000 to 1500 through it . Yes I reload , and there was some pretty hot rounds through it not many but a few . Any good gunsmith close to cold lake Ab. That could take a look at the bore?

I've yet to have a problem with my Weatherby's but I have had a similar problem with a Savage 110 in 7mm-08.

After changing the stock twice and 3-4 scopes and mounts and rings later I went back to the gun shop and bought a box of Remington Premiers instead of the 3 boxes of standard crap I went through trying to sight it in......

Problem solved! Told the owner to get rid of the old crap he had sitting on the shelves for the last 5 years.

I've use lots of different ammo at the start , it all shot good and then i started reloading and handloaded my pet load that was my go to for a long whIle.but accuracy has eroded over the last year.

I'm having the same issue with mine in .308. Frustrating as all hell. Read a few times to not free float, gonna try bedding this wknd. Let us know how your trials turn out. I hope you get it sorted.

Maybe the bore is dirty. Jb bore paste saved my bore before. If carbon is built up over time you might not be able to scrub it out.

Might just be the barrel, 1500 rounds in a 243 would probably be getting a fair amount of erosion. Maybe bring it in and get someone to borescope it. Might be able to just set the chamber back a bit too?
