I have a weatherby XXii Bushnell 3200 elite scope on it. I’m getting good groupings 5 in at ½ inch at 50 meters then two or three will fly one to two inches wide . I’ve been told the problem is parallax, then some tells me that parallax doesn’t come into play unless your shooting 100meters plus, any one out ther able to demystify Parallax for me.

Parallax shows up more at close range than long range. Your scope is a fixed objective type that is probably set to zero parallax at around 100yds, which is pretty common for a centerfire rifle scope. As you get closer in, the parallax will get worse and cause you more problems.

This is why any scope to be used with rimfire should have an adjustable objective, to let you adjust down to the shorter ranges that rimfires are typically used at. If you try some groups at 100yds I would expect your problems to go away.

Edit - Why are you posting everything twice? Give it a minute after you post to make sure it is up or not.

one way to make sure your parallax is set properly for the range your using is to have your rifle pointed at your target and move your head around behind the scope, if your cross hairs move without you moving the rifle your parallax is incorrect for that range. just keep adjusting until the cross-hair stays on target when you move your head around

Thanks mark and arcstarter , I'll give it a go :)

The reason I was double posting double posting is that i'm new to posting , I think I have the hang of it now thanks for your help
